Established in 2004 by Dr. Renata Schiavo, Strategies for Equity and Communication Impact (formerly Strategic Communication Resources) is a global consultancy dedicated to fostering behavioral, social, and organizational change via social innovation, community engagement, and systems-changing strategies. Renata and her associates at SECI provide technical assistance and consulting services on several intersecting fields and action areas, such as global health (U.S. and international settings); health equity/health disparities and social determinants of health; healthcare; strategic communication for behavioral, social and organizational change; social innovation; results-driven strategic planning for systems change; participatory planning and user-centered design; multisectoral partnership development and management; and capacity building, instructional design, and training. Among others, Renata is a leading proponent and has significant experience in community-driven, multisectoral, and participatory planning approaches for intervention design and/or health communication to address health, equity, and social issues. She has designed and published a model for effectively integrating partnership and action plans, which has been implemented in participatory capacity building efforts for global health, health communication, and public health interventions in the fields of infant mortality prevention, global handwashing, and health equity, among others.
